The ancient city of Vorelisk, was ruled by the Golden Council, publicly elected officials who were in charge of governance of the city for the benefit of all citizens. Each member of the council was responsible for different aspects of the city's well-being:
- Treasurer - responsible for collecting funds required to oversee public projects
- Arts - ensuring the development and stability of arts in the city
- Interior - responsible for maintenance and development of roads, sewage, water, and buildings
- Magic - responsible for investigating and enforcing safe magical practices in the city
- Security - wearer of the Vythsthyr crown, this person would control the warforged guards in town
- People's Advocacy - responsible for public outreach and ensuring that any action taken by the council is in the best interest of the public, sometimes called the devil's advocate
- Law - in charge of adjudicating fair sentencing for criminals, and structuring law in such a way that it promotes equity
