Roolian School of Artifice

Established in 266 YSK, a man named Eldon Roole discovered an artifact in the Marrow Desert sometime in 231 YSK. He claimed to have seen a vision when collecting this strange, massive "lantern" as he called it, stating that it came from something, somewhere, or someone called "Movan". He then dedicated his life to researching it from the Purple District of Londor. With no magical blood or arcane training, he began to understand how to infuse items with magic from his understanding of the Movan Lantern.

While he wasn't a wizard or sorcerer, he was an erudite and exceptional note taker. He outlined his method of artifice in what he called the Roolian Method of Artifice. By 266 YSK, enough interested benefactors had seen his wonders and opened the Roolian School of Artifice. One such benefactor was Grand Scion Kaenith Silverharp, who took a portion of his own personal fortune to ensure the school could open in Londor (although those close to him said that he was disappointed it went to the Purple District, himself being from the Blue).

It is said that later in life Eldon Roole claimed to be the son of a passionate tryst between a Londoran woman and the interplanar traveler Londo Roole, though there was never any evidence to substantiate that claim.
