Ezra, the great chronicler, the goddess of language, took a great interest in the material plane after its creation. In its innocence, she found an immense source of magic, and contained it in four legendary books.

The books are said to contain different aspects of reality, relative to the reader. The past, the present, the future, and apocrypha - things that have not come to pass.
