The god of strength, Ursus has inspired countless warriors throughout history. Ursus has been a longtime friend of both Apotheos and Auleos, and more than once his strength has been tested by standing between those two foes -- and Ursus has always answered the call. His seemingly limitless strength has lasted through endless battles with the dark gods, and he is the proud father of Ebrek, first of the dwarves, along with Aurelia.

Ursus is not only known for his physical strength, but his mental acuity. After his earliest encounters with the Goddesses Zanna and Aurelia, he realized that the mind must be sharp to have true strength, as those two did. It is said that Ursus has always loved Aurelia, and though she would not join him as husband and wife, he will have no other. It is common to find Ursus and Aurelia's faiths in common cause, as Ursus trusts her to always do the right thing.

The temple of Ursus is ruled by the seven Aznak (anvils), the highest position in the church. The anvils are iron, gold, silver, copper, platinum, mithril, and adamantine. The priests are called Kulrak (hammers), and the acolytes are called Rak (nails), and there is a special role - chosen by the magical hammer Helforil - the Helrak (sledgehammer). This chosen champion of the mighty is charged with defending the meek and defeating demons and devils of Infandus that would desecrate Arnessia.

Emblems and holy symbols of Ursus depict his chosen appearance - a creature with the muscular body of a man, with two heads of a bear (sometimes wielding his battle axe and warhammer).
