The goddess of language and mother of written history, Ezra is revered by librarians, writers, wizards, and historians far and wide. It is said Ezra was the first of the Eleven Eternal to create a common tongue by which they could all communicate. According to myth, she was the one who blessed the children with the concept of writing and alphabets. She decreed that they should immortalize their deeds and the words of the gods through this great gift.

The greatest tragedy in the history of the church of Ezra was done at the hands of Grondar the terrible. When Grondar marched west from beyond the Ebonwood, his massive army burned all the libraries - and temples of Ezra - in protest of Yondaran expansion into the ancient forest. The Chroniclers of Ezra have done much over the thousand years since ths atrocity to restore the lost tomes of the world. Their archivists have been known to delve the deepest dungeons in pursuit of this forgotten knowledge.

Emblems and holy symbols of Ezra depict a quill and scroll.
