Cragnox

Cragnox is a city made of gold. Not figuratively, as in the city is good at turning a profit, but literally, as in the buildings are made of gold. Archaeologists believe that the gold was mined directly from the surrounding Blackfang Mountains some 10,000 years ago. As written history was not a priority in Cragnox, much of its history is left to the interpretation of art and sculpture. It seems Cragnox may have once been ruled by devils, demons, undead, fire giants, goblins, trolls, orcs, and mindflayers. The true history will likely never be known. As of 998 YSK, the city harbors all manner of these creatures, and other humanoids as well. There are rumors that even dragons go walking through the city in humanoid forms. This city never sleeps, and there is always some sort of blood feud and quarrel at some point. The city is chaotic and violent, but a source of adventure and treasure like no other.

There are those in Cragnox who dislike and mistrust the Wayfarer Gnome Expedition Company, and believe their expansion into Guulrath will eventually include the annexation of Cragnox. Cragnox is known by many nicknames in Yondar, including the city of monsters, the golden city, Nelroth's Playground, and pejoratively, "Big Monster City".
